AP Training Program


Associate Professional Training Course (APT)
The Associate Professional Training Course conducted by the Green Building Council of Sri Lanka (GBCSL) is designed to train property industry professionals to perform as Green Professionals who could lead transformation of the construction industry in Sri Lanka with Green building practices to ensure the future wellbeing of our Planet. The course contents are given below.

Course Objectives
The Associate Professional Training Course conducted by the GBCSL is designed to train property industry professionals to perform as Green Professionals who could lead transformation of the construction industry in Sri Lanka with Green building practices to ensure the future wellbeing of our Planet.

For Whom

  • Property industry professionals such as Architects, Engineers, Town Planners, Quantity Surveyors, Facilities Managers
  • University Academics (relevant fields)
  • Environmentalists (graduates)
  • Other recognised professionals in the building industry

The Board of Education and Training of GBCSL reserves the right to select suitable candidates for the course. Their decision is final and binding.

Course Fee
Rs. 38,000/- (including lecture/training sessions, course materials, examination fee, refreshments and lunch during the lecture/training sessions and the participation in the symposium and Dinner on the final day of the program)

  • 4 days of lectures
  • A field visit
  • Guided Independent Studies
  • A conceptual (group) green building project
  • A final written examination (open book)

GREENSL® ACCREDITATION
Those who are successful at the examination will be awarded with the certification ‘GBCSL Associated Professional’ (GREENSL®AP). After enlisting, the APs can practice as independent Green Consultants or work in green projects of the organizations they are employed. APs can also apply to get themselves involved in green projects of the Council. Once they complete at least one year’s experience in Green projects and participate in professional development programs conducted by the Council, the APs will be qualified to apply to become Accredited Green Professionals (GREENSL®AGP) of the GBCSL. Accredited Professionals will be awarded with the ‘Accredited Membership’ of the GBCSL and will become part and parcel of the Council.
