GREENSL® Labeling Process

GBCSL technical committee has developed a comprehensive green labeling system with the most applicable sustainable building materials and products.

The Application Process

  1. Application Submission
  2. Preliminary meeting with the applicant to brief on the assessment process and criteria by GBCSL team.
  3. Request for relevant reports and documentary proofs to substantiate the subsequent submissions.
  4. Commence the first assessment which will include documentary reviews as well as site verification.
  5. Field audit including on-site random sample collection and data collection for Life Cycle Assessment by a third party technical committee.
  6. Documentary evidences of test reports obtained from Accredited Laboratories are to be submitted during the assessment.
  7. Upon completion of the assessment, the Panel of Assessors will make recommendation to the GBCSL Accreditation Board on certification to be awarded to the material/product. 
  8. The GBCSL Accreditation Board after making their own assessment and will recommend to the Board of Directors of the GBCSL to award appropriate certification.

Accredited Laboratories

Analytical testing should be accredited and performed by laboratories that meet the requirement laid out in the IEC/ISO 17025 or EN 45001 standards or any equivalent systems.  The accreditation scheme for Testing and Calibration laboratories is based on ISO/IEC 17025 – General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. Following laboratories are accredited under SLAB ( Sri Lanka Accreditation Board ).
